| WHO: |
Volunteers are needed to assist with planting trees, handing out materials, and registering other guests. |
| WHAT: |
Reforest the Bluegrass 2008 - Jacobson Park
Volunteers will be asked to
help plant 9,000 tree seedlings to create a forest in Jacobson Park. Volunteers will be organized into groups and lead into the field by trained personnel.
Each group takes approximately 1.5-2.0 hours to plant all of their assigned seedlings. |
| WHEN: |
Saturday, April 19, 2008, 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
|
| WHERE: |
Jacobson Park, located off Athens-Boonesboro Road.
|
| WHAT TO BRING: |
Dress for the weather and wear water-proof boots, in some places the ground has standing water. RTB 2008 will be held rain or shine -- the rain is good for the trees.
You do not need to bring any shovels or buckets.
It is recommended that you have water-proof gloves to handle the tree seedlings. This will help keep your hands warm, the seedlings have been kept moist for their protection.
|
| PARKING: |
On-site parking will be available. |
| LUNCH & T-SHIRTS: |
Lunch and t-shirts will be provided to every volunteer who registers and participates in the project. |
| TO VOLUNTEER: |
