The Cardinal Valley Center (CVC) is a unique neighborhood center where many cultures meet. In order to benefit the community it serves, the CVC provides social services and referrals in both English and Spanish. Like other empowerment centers in Lexington-Fayette County, the CVC works to bridge cultural gaps among neighbors and to empower people to live independently with the ultimate goal of creating a stronger, healthier community.

The CVC provides the following free services to the public in English and Spanish:

ADULT FINANCIAL SERVICES -  Counselors at the center can refer clients in need of financial assistance for rent or utility bills to certain community organizations.

BLUEGRASS RAPE CRISIS CENTER - Bluegrass Rape Crisis Center has a worker in the Center on Mondays from 1-3:30 PM to talk to anyone needing counseling regarding domestic violence issues.

COUNSELING - Clients can call the CVC anytime to schedule an individual or family therapy session. The sessions are always held on Tuesdays from 2-6 PM.

DIAPER ASSISTANCE – The Center can provide limited, periodic diaper assistance.

EMERGENCY FOOD ASSISTANCE - Counselors can provide referrals to God's Pantry for emergency food needs.

ESL CLASSES - TBA: Call the CVC for times and/or information.

LEGAL ADVICE – Basic legal services are available Mondays and Thursdays from 2-5 PM. The types of cases managed may include labor complaints, wage claims, immigration, etc.

PROTECTION AND ADVOCACY – Representatives from the office of Protection and Advocacy visit the CVC on the 1st and 4th Tuesday of every month from 1:30-4PM to discuss the resources available for disabled persons in our community.

REFERRALS FOR FURNITURE/CLOTHING - Assistance with obtaining furniture and/or clothing is available at the Center any day.

TRANSLATION OF DOCUMENTS – Counselors will help translate various client documents.

VERBAL INTERPRETATION – Counselors are available for interpretation by phone.

WEEKLY JOB LIST – Every Monday a new list of local job opportunities is compiled.

El Centro Cardinal Valley (CVC) es un centro comunitario único donde se reúnen varias culturas. Para beneficiar a la comunidad que sirve, el CVC brinda servicios sociales y referencias en inglés y español. Como otros centros de habilitación de Lexington el Condado de Fayette, el CVC sirve para llenar los huecos culturales entre vecinos y para habilitar a la gente a que viva independientemente con la meta última de crear una comunidad más fuerte, más sana.

El CVC le brinda los siguientes servicios gratis al público en inglés y español.

SERVICIOS FINANCIEROS PARA ADULTOS – Los asesores en el centro pueden referir a clientes que necesitan ayuda financiera para facturas de luz o de renta a ciertas organizaciones comunitarias.

BLUEGRASS RAPE CRISIS CENTER – Una trabajadora del Bluegrass Rape Crisis Center está en el centro los lunes de la 1 hasta las 3:30 de la tarde para hablarle a cualquier persona que necesite asesoría con respecto a asuntos de violencia doméstica.

ASESORÍA – Los clientes pueden llamar al CVC en cualquier momento para sacar una cita de terapia para un individuo o para la familia. Las citas siempre toman lugar los martes entre las 2 y las 6 de la tarde.

AYUDA CON PAÑALES – El CVC puede brindar ayuda limitada con pañales de vez en cuando.

AYUDA DE EMERGENCIA PARA COMIDA – Los asesores pueden brindar referencias a God’s Pantry en casos de emergencia para conseguir suficiente comida.

CLASES DE INGLÉS COMO SEGUNDA LENGUA – El CVC va a anunciar las horas y las fechas de estas clases. Llame al CVC para horas y/o información.

ASESORÍA LEGAL – Servicios legales básicos están disponibles los lunes y los jueves entre las 2 y las 5 de la tarde. Los tipos de casos manejados pueden incluir quejas laborales, reclamaciones de pagos, inmigración y más.

PROTECCIÓN Y ABOGACÍA – Representativas de la oficina de Protección y Abogacía visitan el CVC el primer y el cuarto martes de cada mes desde la 1:30 hasta las 4 de la tarde para discutir los recursos disponibles para los minusválidos en nuestra comunidad.

REFERENCIAS PARA MUEBLES Y ROPA – Ayuda para conseguir muebles y/o ropa está disponible en el CVC en cualquier día.

INTERPRETACIÓN DE DOCUMENTOS – Los asesores ayudan a interpretar varios documentos de clientes.

INTERPRETACIÓN VERBAL – Los asesores están disponibles a interpretar por teléfono.

LISTA SEMENAL DE TRABAJOS – Cada lunes se compilará una nueva lista de trabajos disponibles en Lexington.
