BUILDING INSPECTION
Issues permits for any structure that is built,
moved, added to or structurally altered. Also issues permits to wreck,
shore, raze or move a building and for new or replacement heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems. |

ENGINEERING
Provides for the public works
infrastructure needs of Fayette County, through the design,
review, construction and inspection of stormwater, wastewater, and roadway facilities.

HISTORIC PRESERVATION
Provides staff support to the Historic Preservation Commission and the Board of
Architectural Review.

PDR
Objective is to preserve Fayette County’s horse farmland and
other agricultural property from urban sprawl by protecting 50,000 acres of farmland.

PLANNING
Provides overall growth management framework to guide and shape the community's
growth and development.

STREETS, ROADS
& FORESTERY
Responsible for All roads except those on the state and federal highway system. Also
oversees the city’s forestry program,

TRAFFIC ENGINEERING
Operates and maintains the city’s computerized traffic
signal system, and oversees the installation of signs and pavement markings.
