Judge Jennifer Coffman swore in Mayor-elect Newberry and the new Urban County Council in a ceremony at the Lexington Center.
Alan Stein welcomed the audience, and Dr. Lee Todd, University of Kentucky President, introduced the incoming Mayor. The Lexington Philharmonic Orchestra
played at the ceremony, and a combined choir from Imani and Immanuel churches performed musical selections. The incoming officials then joined
the public at a reception.
