And a REAL Camp at Southern Middle School for middle school aged children.
2008 REAL Camp Application
Families currently enrolled in the after school program are encouraged to send their application (address enclosed on application) in anytime after March 25. The first opportunity for families not enrolled will be the in-person registration event on Saturday, April 19, followed by mail or in person registrations accepted until the camp is full.
Registration for all camps will take place on Saturday, April 19, at the Summer Camps Fair. This event will take place from 9 am – 1 pm at the Fire Training Center located at 1375 Old Frankfort Pike. Registration for the ESP and REAL camp is by mail or in-person only during the Summer Camps Fair – campers will NOT be allowed to register through on-line registration or by Fax. After this date, provided slots are available, you may register in person by visiting the ESP Offices located on the 3rd Floor of the Dunbar Community Center (545 N. Upper Street). Please see below for important dates.
Scholarship Information
A limited number of scholarships are available. Parent/Guardian(s) must fill out a scholarship application form completely and provide proof of income in order to be eligible. Scholarships are on a first-come, first-served basis. The scholarship rate is $50 a week, per child.
Cancellations
ESP and REAL Camps do not refund activity fees. The drop date for any weeks you have indicated on the application without being responsible for payment is May 16. Please call (859) 288-2929 in order to drop weeks. After this date, participants will be responsible to pay for all summer weeks marked on the application.
Account Balances
All families must have a zero balance by May 30 in order to attend the ESP Summer Fun Camp or the REAL Camp. If by this date the account balance is not zero, you will be notified of any balance and payment must be made before your child can attend camp, regardless of any prior confirmation. Your registration fee will not be refunded.
Important Dates
March 25: Camp opens to current ESP enrollees. Summer camp applications are available at your ESP site. Only one per student, please. Current ESP students are encouraged to mail them back to the office (address on application) any time after this. Those not currently enrolled in ESP may call (859) 288-2929 to be added to a mailing list.
April 11: Summer camps applications mailed out to those on the mailing list.
April 19: Those who are not currently enrolled in ESP may return applications to the Summer Camps Fair which will be held from 9 am – 1 pm at Fire Training Center located at 1375 Old Frankfort Pike. This is the first opportunity for the general public to submit their application. After this date, applications may be mailed or hand delivered to the ESP main office located at the Dunbar Community Center (545 N. Upper St., Lexington, KY 40511). ESP Applications received before this date will not be processed until Monday, April 21. All Parks and Recreation Camps will be accepting applications at this event.
May 16: Last day to drop weeks that you have indicated on the application without being responsible to pay for them. Call (859) 288-2929 to drop. After this date, participants will be responsible for payment for all summer weeks marked on the application. Additionally, it is not possible to add weeks after registration.
