Extended School Program:
Arrivals and Pickups
ILLNESS
ESP cannot provide for sick children. Please do not send your ill
child to the program. We are concerned for the health and welfare
of each child and staff member. If a child becomes ill at the
program, a parent or legal guardian is required to pick up the child
as soon as possible after being notified by the site director.
ARRIVAL AND PICKUP
An adult, guardian or authorized person at least 16 years of age must
sign each child in and out of the ESP Program. Failure to sign
in or out may result in the termination of ESP services. The person
must write down their child's arrival and departure time on the sign-in/sign-out
form. A parent, guardian or other authorized person must accompany
the child to and from the ESP site. The ESP staff cannot accept
the responsibility for children left at the door who have not been signed
in by a responsible person.
The closing time of all ESP facilities is 6:00pm. Should a child
be picked up after closing time, the responsible person will be assessed
a penalty of $5.00 per child at 6:05pm. There will be an additional
$5.00 charge per child for every 15 minute period or portion thereof
the responsible person is late. If not paid at the time of pickup,
the late fee will be added to the following week's fees.
After 6:00pm, if a responsible person has made no contact with the ESP
site director, a telephone call will be made to persons on the child's
emergency contact list to arrange a pickup. If no one is available
on the child's emergency list by 7:00pm, local police will be contacted
and the child/children will be placed in protective custody until a
parent can be located. Failure to regularly pick up a child by
6:00pm is grounds for dismissal from the ESP program.
The only persons allowed to pick up a child are those listed on the
child's authorization form. The staff retains the right to request
proper photo identification from a person requesting to pick up a child
and may refuse to release a child to a person not listed on the child's
authorization form. If someone other than a listed parent, guardian
or responsible person is to pick up a child, then a signed note must
be sent to the site director and the responsible person must be indicated
on the sign-in/sign-out form for the child on that day.
