This Week in Lexington's Parks

Parks & Recreation will once again offer a co-ed adult winter indoor volleyball league. The league begins in January and ends in March. Teams will play a nine-game schedule followed by a post-season tournament. Matches are played on Sunday afternoons at the Castlewood Community Center. Returning teams may register from 8 am – 5 pm on December 1 – 5 and new teams may register from December 8 – 12. The cost to play in the league is $200 per team.

The Masterson Station Equestrian program offers classes in basic horsemanship with the purpose of teaching individuals how to ride safely and to work around horses. Equestrian lesson registration for winter classes will take place on Saturday, December 6, at McConnell Springs. Youth registration for ages 10 to 15 years will take place at 8:30 am and adult registration for adults ages 16 and over will take place at 10 am. The cost to participate is $75 for youth and $95 for adults.

During this season of giving, come out to McConnell Springs to make gifts for your backyard wildlife friends. The Winter Wildlife Treats program will be held at 10 am on Saturday, December 6. This free program is geared towards children 4 to 12 years old and their parent/guardian.

Join the staff of Raven Run and explore an 18th century homestead and learn about the landscape of the Bluegrassas it appeared over 200 years ago. The History of Raven Run program will take place at 1 pm on Sunday, December 7. This is a free program.
