Lexington Sister Cities Commission
Deauville, France

Deauville, France became Lexington’s first Sister City in 1957. Lexington and Deauville, recognized as centers of the thoroughbred industry in their countries, both feel their communities derive from the Sister Cities relationship mutual benefit on cultural, economic and educational levels. Deauville is located on the channel coast near the port of LeHavre and 100 miles northwest of Paris. It is a seaside resort with a population of 8,000 in the winter and swelling to 100,000 during vacation season. If you visit Deauville, you will enjoy the beach, horse racing, the casino, the American Film Festival and much more. Deauville is truly a world of elegance and leisure.
