The fire service has traditionally been a very close-knit family. We are known for taking care of our own. So it stands to reason that we would have someone whose primary role is to aid and to care for our own fire department family.

Lt. Stewart Dawson is the Chaplain for the Lexington Fire Department. His primary role is to "Be There" for our firefighters, support personnel and their families. He is not only a firefightrer/EMT, but he is also an ordained minister. He has been with the Division of Fire since 1991. His office is located at the corner of Maxwell & Merino Streets, on the second floor of Fire Station #3.

There are two other groups that work closely with the Chaplain to aid him in his mission. The Family Care Fellowship and the Fellowship of Christian Firefighters both exist to "Serve those who Serve."
