Calling Police: In an emergency, call 9-1-1; for other services, call 258-3600. Emergency services personnel are on duty 24 hours a day.
Administrative offices are open Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Police stations: Lexington’s police officers patrol beats, or geographic
areas, in three sectors. Each sector has its own Police station: East Sector Station, 1165 Centre Parkway, 425-2060; West Sector Station, 1795 Old Frankfort Pike, 425-2370; Central Sector Station, 1060 Goodwin Drive, 425-2390. Police Headquarters is downtown at 150 E. Main St., 258-3600.

Filing a report: For a non-emergency report, call 258-3600. An officer may be sent to your home or business or the report may be taken over the phone. Reports may also be filed in person at Police headquarters, 150 E. Main St.
Requesting a report: All reports requested other than a collision report may be obtained by mail or in person after 72 hours, people involved in an incident may obtain a copy of the report. Collision reports may be obtained after 10 business days. Mail your request or go to Lexington Police Headquarters – Central Records Unit (front lobby), 150 East Main Street, Lexington, Ky. 40507. Hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday-Friday (closed Holidays). Phone: 859-258-3600. Include or bring a photo I.D., report or case number, officer’s name and badge number, type of incident (burglary, collision, etc.) and location (collisions only), names of complainant, victim, or vehicle driver (collisions only). Reports cost 10 cents per page. Include a self-addressed, stamped envelope or sufficient money for postage.
Complaints against officers: Call Internal Affairs at 258-3625. Complaints can be made in person, by mail, by telephone, or anonymously.
Records checks: Criminal history checks can be obtained by contacting AOC Pre-Trial Records, 100 Millcreek Rd., Frankfort, Ky. or 1-800-928-6381.
Neighborhood Watch Program: Residents work together to prevent residential burglaries and other crimes. To set up a Neighborhood Watch Program, call 258-3636.
Bluegrass Crime Stoppers: To report information about a featured crime, call 253-2020. Fax information to 425-2278. Cingular Wireless customers can also call free by dialing *2020.
Crime in your neighborhood: Log on the Police web page and click on Crime Maps for a map of crimes committed in your neighborhood. Follow instructions for your address, etc.
Citizens’ Police Academy: Learn how and why Police do what they do by enrolling in the Citizen’s Police Academy. Call Community Services at 258-3636.
Noise ordinance violations, including barking dogs: Call 258-3600.
Miscellaneous pet violations, including dog waste, violations of the leash law: Call Police at 258-3600. Violations of the vicious dog ordinance should be reported to the Lexington Humane Society at 233-0044.
Parking violations: To report parking violations, including parking on sidewalks or in yards, blocking driveways and 24-hour parking, call 258-3600.
Junked vehicles on street: Call Police at 258-3600 if an abandoned or junked
vehicle is parked on a public street.
Alcoholic Beverage Control: For information on licensing requirements or Lexington establishments that sell alcohol, call 258-3796.
