OTHER DIVISIONS

Most divisions of the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government are organized into seven departments. The departments of government are:

Finance and Administration – Includes divisions of Accounting, Purchasing, Revenue, Human Resources and Community Development.

General Services – Parks and Recreation, Building Maintenance and Construction and Fleet Services.

Law – Corporate Counsel, Litigation, and Risk Management.

Public Safety – Code Enforcement, DEEM, Community Corrections, Fire, Police and E-911.

Environmental Quality – Office of Compliance, Water and Air Quality (formerly known as Sanitary Sewers), and Waste Management (formerly known as Solid Waste).

Public Works and Development Department – Planning, Purchase of Development Rights, Engineering, Historic Preservation, Streets, Roads and Forestry, Traffic Engineering, and Building Inspection.

Social Services -- Adult Services, Family Services, Youth Services, Cardinal Valley Center, Aging Services and LexLinc.

In addition, there is a senior advisor to the Mayor/Chief Information Officer who oversees the divisions of Computer Services and Government Communications. See pages 32-33 for a complete organizational chart.
