Linda Gorton is serving her first term as a Council Member-at-Large. She has served four terms representing the 4th District. She holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Kentucky and is a staff nurse for a local physician.

Gorton is active on numerous community boards, including the Lexington Center Corp. Board, the Sister Cities Commission, the UK/LFUCG Arboretum Advisory Committee, the Federal Medical Center, Bluegrass Council-Boy Scouts, Friends of the Dog Park, Bluegrass Military Affairs Coalition, Friends of the Lafayette Band, and Central Kentucky Radio Eye. She is a graduate of the Citizens Police Academy, the Citizens Fire Academy, Leadership Lexington 2000 and Leadership Kentucky 2001.

Gorton chairs the Council’s Planning Committee and the Stormwater Oversight Committee and serves on the Budget and Finance Committee and the Sanitary Sewers Oversight Committee.
