Enhanced 9-1-1: If you have an emergency, you can contact emergency personnel any time of day or night by simply dialing “9-1-1” from a residential, business, public pay phone or mobile phone within Fayette County. Communication officers or “call takers” will answer your “9-1-1” call as quickly as it is received. They will first determine the nature of the problem and inquire if you need the police, fire or medical personnel to respond. The Enhanced 9-1-1 system can handle calls from anywhere inside Fayette County; from landline, mobile or satellite phones; and from non-English speaking or TDD callers.

Addressing: The Division of Enhanced 9-1-1 is the only entity designated to assign or change addresses within Lexington-Fayette County and reviews new building and development plans while monitoring existing units for proper address usage. Every structure and living unit in Lexington should be properly signed with assigned address and/or suite number.
