Council member Ed Lane has been an active member of the business community since moving to Lexington in 1980.  His commercial real estate services firm is actively engaged in providing brokerage and consulting services, appraisals, market analysis, tenant and buyer representation; and an affiliated company publishes statewide and regional business and economic news magazines.

Councilman Lane has also served on the boards of numerous professional, business, arts and civic organizations.

Currently, he is active on these boards or committees: UK Sanders-Brown Center on Aging Foundation, Council Budget & Finance Committee and the Services committees, Fayette County Equine Task Force, Lexington Downtown Development Authority Board, Raven Run Sanctuary Advisory Board, Commerce Lexington Agribusiness Committee, LFUCG Economic Contingency Committee, and The Lafayette Club.

Elected to his first term as 12th District Council member in 2004, Ed Lane resides in Hartland Gardens in southeast Fayette County.  He is a graduate of the University of Georgia and is a University of Kentucky Fellow.
