Larry S. Roberts
grew up in Lexington, graduating from Henry Clay High School in 1961 and the University of Kentucky in 1966. At U.K., he lettered on the freshman and varsity tennis teams, was a member of the U.K. marching band and was a varsity cheerleader. He received his J.D. degree from the University of Kentucky, College of Law in 1969. From 1969 to 1972, he was a public defender with Fayette County Legal Aid. He was selected to become the first full-time prosecutor in Kentucky and served as Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney from 1972-77. He was appointed Commonwealth’s Attorney in 1977 and served until 1984. In 1985, he entered private practice where he was a partner in the firm of Fowler, Measle & Bell until 1989. In 1989, he formed the firm of Roberts & Smith and was there until becoming County Attorney. He has a Peer Review Rating of AV with Martindale-Hubbell. Mr. Roberts has served as an adjunct professor at the U.K. College of Law and has been an active participant in the Fayette County School's EBCE Program for over twenty years. He was sworn in as Fayette County Attorney on August 15, 2006, and was elected to this position on November 7, 2006 for a four-year term.
M. Lee Turpin
-- Director of Criminal Prosecution. She graduated from the University of Kentucky, College of Law in 1992. She served as a judicial clerk for Judge John Adams in Fayette Circuit Court until 1994. Except for several years as a staff attorney with the Division of Natural Resources and Department of Corrections, Ms. Turpin has been with the Fayette County Attorney’s Office. She has served as a general prosecutor and Director of the Domestic Violence Unit. Additionally, she has extensive experience in teaching seminars in domestic violence and criminal prosecution to the Lexington Police Department, Kentucky State Police, and the Fayette County Public Schools.
Duane F. Osborne
was born in Syracuse, New York, but grew up in Morehead, Kentucky. Duane is a 1986 cum laude graduate of Morehead State University, and a 1989 graduate of the University of Kentucky, College of Law. Duane has been an Assistant Fayette County Attorney since 1993, and prosecutes dependency, neglect and abuse proceedings in Fayette County. He is an outstanding speaker on DNA and has conducted seminars throughout the United States for judges, lawyers, educators and social workers.
Elizabeth Bancroft
graduated from Michigan State University and Valparaiso School of Law, receiving her J.D. degree in 1996. She worked as a deputy prosecutor for three years in South Bend, Indiana, and later formed her own law firm which operated for two years. She relocated to Lexington in 2002, and joined the Fayette County Attorney’s Office in July, 2002 as a general prosecutor.
Carlos Ross
is originally from Little Rock, Arkansas. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Business and Economics from Hendrix College and a law degree from the University of Arkansas. He was a Prosecutor in the Child Support Enforcement, Paternity Division of the Fayette County Attorney's Office before joining General Prosecution in January, 2007.

Elizabeth Green Messer is a graduate of St. Catherine’s High School in Racine, Wisconsin.
She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Kentucky in 2003 with a B.A. in Integrated Strategic
Communications. She received her J.D. in May, 2007 from the University of Kentucky, College of Law.
Prior to coming to the Fayette County Attorney’s Office in September, 2008, Libby was the staff attorney for
Judge Kim Bunnell at the Fayette Circuit Court.
J.J. Alleman is originally from Point Pleasant, West Virginia, and is a graduate of Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia. He is a retired police officer with the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Division of Police. He received his J.D. degree from Salmon P. Chase College of Law. In May, 2008, J.J. joined the staff of the Fayette County Attorney's Office in the Division of Criminal Complaints. He was assigned to general prosecution as an Assistant Fayette County Attorney in November, 2008.
Jason Rothrock
was born in Lexington, Virginia, and grew up in the small village of Vesuvius. He graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree in commerce. In 1999, he received his J.D. from the University of Kentucky, College of Law. He worked as staff attorney for former Fayette Circuit Court Judge Lewis Paisley for one year and served as an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney in Fayette County for six and a half years. In January, 2006, he opened a law office and was a solo practitioner for two and a half years. Jason joined the Fayette County Attorney’s Office in July, 2009, and currently works in civil litigation.

Ashley Chilton
grew up in Lewisville, North Carolina, but relocated to Oak Ridge, Tennessee late in high school. She graduated from the
University of Kentucky in 2003, and received her J.D. from Northern Kentucky University, Chase College of Law in 2008.
Ashley became an Assistant Fayette County Attorney in June, 2009 working in the Division of Child Support. She joined general
prosecution in January, 2010.

Steven Stadler
grew up in Lexington, Kentucky. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a B.B.A. in Marketing. He received his J.D. from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, Cleveland State University in 2007. Steven became an Assistant Fayette County Attorney in November, 2009 in the Child Support Enforcement Division, and moved to general prosecution in August, 2010. Prior to joining the Fayette County Attorney's Office, he served as law clerk to Judge Craig Clymer of the McCracken Circuit Court, and he was an associate attorney in Lexington practicing in the area of insurance defense.
Heather Matics
spent five years living with her family in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, where she became fluent in Spanish. She graduated with honors from Kentucky Wesleyan College in Owensboro, receiving a B.A. in history. Heather earned her J.D. from the University of Louisville, Brandeis School of Law, in May 1996. Her professional career includes years spent as a public defender and as a senior staff attorney for the Kentucky Court of Appeals. She joined the Fayette County Attorney's Office as a general prosecutor in February, 2011.

Brian E. Mattone
-- First Assistant County Attorney. Brian was born in Richmond, Virginia, but grew up in Lexington and worked as a clerk in the Criminal Division of Fayette District Court prior to attending Florida State University in Tallahassee. After graduating from Florida State with a major in political science, Brian came home to Lexington and worked full-time back in the Criminal Division of Fayette District Court for the year prior to starting law school at the University of Kentucky. During law school, Brian worked as a summer associate at Greenebaum, Doll & McDonald and at Vimont & Wills. After graduating from law school, he worked as a prosecutor for eight years at the Fayette Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office, specializing in the prosecution of sex offenses committed against children. Brian joined the Fayette County Attorney’s Office in September, 2006.
Richard E. Vimont
joined the Fayette County Attorney’s Office in July, 2006, part-time status, where he handles civil matters for the office and assists in criminal prosecutions. He has been in the private practice of law in Lexington for 46 years during which time he served on the City Commission and as Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney prosecuting white-collar crimes. Mr. Vimont has extensive legal experience in corporate law, equine law and civil litigation, and he has a Peer Review Rating of AV with Martindale Hubbell. He received his J.D. degree from the University of Kentucky in 1960.
Jennifer True is a native of Nicholasville, Kentucky. She is a graduate of the University of Kentucky with a degree in political science, as well as a J.D. from the University of Kentucky, College of Law. Jenny joined this office in general prosecution in November, 2000. In 2006, she restarted our Truancy Intervention Program by working with Fayette County Public Schools and other community partners. She received the Assistant County Attorney of the Year Award in 2007. Jenny currently serves as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney. In early 2011, Jenny began prosecuting cases in our Juvenile Division.
Carrie McIntyre
was raised in Shelbyville, Kentucky. After graduating from Wake Forest University in 2002, she attended the University of Kentucky, College of Law and received her J.D. degree in 2005. She then spent almost a year as Judge Timothy Philpot’s law clerk in Fayette Family Court. She joined the Fayette County Attorney’s Office in July, 2006 and works in the area of general prosecution.
Melissa Moore Murphy became an Assistant Fayette County Attorney in June, 2007.
Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, Melissa graduated from the University of Kentucky with a
Bachelor’s Degree in political science and history in 1998. She graduated from the University o
f Kentucky, College of Law in 2001. She has served as a staff attorney for former Fayette
Circuit Judge Rebecca Overstreet and as an Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney in both Fayette
and McCracken counties in Kentucky. She is currently serving as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney.
John H. Hayne is a native of Charleston, WV, but moved to Lexington and graduated from Paul Dunbar High School. He is a 2003 graduate of Transylvania University with a B.A. in accounting. He earned his M.S. in accounting from the University of Kentucky in 2004, and his J.D. from the University of Kentucky, College of Law in May, 2007. Prior to joining the Fayette County Attorney's Office in August, 2008, John was the staff attorney for Judge Thomas Clark of the Fayette Circuit Court.
Jacqueline D. Alexander
Jackie grew up in Louisville, Kentucky. She graduated from Northern Kentucky University with a B.A. degree in Criminal Justice and a Minor in African American Studies. She received her J.D. in May, 2008 from the University of Kentucky, College of Law. Before joining the Fayette County Attorney's Office in April, 2009, she served as staff attorney for Fayette Circuit Judge Pamela Goodwine.
Erin E. Burns
was born in Madisonville, Kentucky. She is a 2003 graduate of the University of Louisville. She received her J.D. in 2007
from the Appalachian School of Law. Erin became an Assistant Fayette County Attorney in November, 2007,
working in Child Support Enforcement. She joined general prosecution in November, 2009.

Stephen D. Milner, Jr.
is a native of Lexington, Kentucky. He graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree
in economics in 1998, and received his J.D. from the University of Kentucky, College of Law
in 2005. After law school, Stephen worked as a staff attorney for Kentucky Supreme Court
Justice John C. Roach. In December 2006, he joined Stoll Keenon Ogden PLLC as an associate
in the firm's Lexington office, working in the firm's Labor & Employment and Bankruptcy
& Debtor-Creditor practice groups. In February, 2010, Stephen left private practice
and joined the Fayette County Attorney's Office. He currently works in general prosecution.
Prior to enrolling in law school, Stephen served as a Surface Warfare Officer in the United States Navy.
Charles "Sam" Finley
grew up in the small town of Manchester, Kentucky. He graduated from the University of Kentucky with a B.A. in history and a minor in geography in 2008. He received his law degree from Salmon P. Chase College of Law in May, 2011. Throughout law school, Sam worked as a prosecution intern at the Fayette County Attorney's Office. In October, 2011, Sam was hired as an Assistant County Attorney and began working in our Juvenile Division. He will be moving to General Prosecution in March, 2012.

Byron Ockerman
is a life-long resident of Lexington, Kentucky. He is a 1969 graduate
of Henry Clay High School, a 1973 graduate of the University of Kentucky,
and a 1976 graduate of the University of Kentucky, College of Law.
Byron is a member of Phi Beta Kappa, having been inducted in 1973. He has
been an Assistant Fayette County Attorney in the Child Support Division from
1982-1985 and from 1990 to the present.
Richard S. Foley
is a native of Woodford County, Kentucky. He graduated from Transylvania University in 2000 with a B.A. in psychology and theatre. In 2002, he received a M.A. in dramatic literature from the University of California at Santa Barbara. He then worked professionally with several Central Kentucky theatrical organizations. During that time, Richard also taught at Georgetown College and in the Fayette County Public Schools. He received his J.D. from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 2010, and joined the Fayette County Attorney's Office in Child Support Enforcement in October, 2010.
Diane Turner Minnifield
is a native of Chicago, Illinois, but relocated to Louisville, Kentucky, when she was in high school. She received her J.D. degree from the University of Louisville, Brandeis School of Law in 1986. She worked with low-income clients in many areas of civil practice for Central Kentucky Legal Services before coming to the Fayette County Attorney’s Office in 1992. Diane served as a prosecutor in the Juvenile Division of this office until joining Child Support Enforcement in 2011. She maintains a private practice and serves as a hearing examiner for the Lexington Fayette Human Rights Commission.
Matthew Henderson
grew up in Lexington, Kentucky, and graduated from Mars Hill Academy. He is a graduate of the University of Kentucky and the UK College of Law, having received his J.D. in 2008. Prior to becoming an Assistant Fayette County Attorney in May, 2011, Matt served as staff attorney to Judge Timothy Philpot in the Fayette Family Court. He was also a solo practitioner.

Michael Dearing is a life-long resident of Lexington, Kentucky. He is a graduate of Bryan Station High and Georgetown College. He received his J.D. from the University of Kentucky, College of Law in 1982. Mike rejoined the Child Support Division in June, 2008, having previously worked for the Fayette County Attorney’s Office in the early 90’s. In the interim, he was a member of the Lexington law firm of Wilson, Polites and McQueen, specializing in civil litigation.

is a native of Somerset, Kentucky. She is a 2004 graduate of Centre College with a Bachelor of Science in mathematics. She received her J.D. from the University of Kentucky, College of Law in 2008. Before becoming an Assistant Fayette County Attorney in June, 2009, she served as Staff Attorney to Judge David Tapp of the Pulaski Circuit Court.
