In every community where people develop a powerful shared vision, they take into account that community's special circumstances, assets, and challenges. In Lexington-Fayette County in 2008, our assets, challenges, and recent history leads to a specific question our vision must address if it is to guide us in moving our community from good to great. Our community's root question is, "How will we protect all that we value while continuing to grow as a community?"

Our community's success in developing a widely supported, commonly shared vision for the next 30 years depends on the right combination of big dreams and wise ways of reaching those dreams. The Destination 2040 Focus Points Survey invites you to identify the most important areas of focus among four crucial Aspects of Community Life, each of which includes several individual elements.

Keep in mind your personal vision for Lexington-Fayette County as you assign your 20 "focus points" among the 35 different elements however you wish. Although it is not required, you may choose to complete the Seven Vital Questions form, which offers you the opportunity to state your personal vision, before returning here to complete the Destination 2040 Focus Points survey.
