Naturally Ocurring Meetings

Destination 2040's depends on deep community involvement. Rather than asking the community to come to meetings at City Hall, this project will take advantage of “naturally occurring meetings”. These are meetings that Lexingtonians already attend as employees, students or teachers, church/synagogue/mosque members, neighborhood representatives, board members, booster club members, and more.

Destination 2040 asks that every business workplace, civic group, faith-based group, sports league, neighborhood association, or other group take part in the work of developing and agreeing on our community's common purpose. This involves dedicating two 90-minute meetings to the important work of helping choose our community's future.

  1. Between January 22 - March 14, dedicate one of your regular meetings to holding a 90-minute Round One meeting, "The Destination Conversation: Many Ideas, One Vision."
  2. Between April 1 - May 2, dedicate a second regular meeting to holding a 90-minute Round Two meeting, "Milestones and Measures: How Will We Mark Our Progress?"
