CHEMICAL STOCKPILE EMERGENCY
PREPAREDNESS PROGRAM (CSEPP)
The goal of the Chemical Stockpile Emergency Preparedness Program (CSEPP) is to prepare for any accidental releases of chemical munitions stored at the Blue Grass Army Depot.
What is CSEPP?
CSEPP is a cooperative effort by local, state, and federal agencies to prepare for the slight, but very real threat of accidents at any of the eight chemical munitions storage sites. This includes the Blue Grass Army Depot (BGAD) in Madison County.

What is CSEPP doing in Fayette County?
Through CSEPP, Fayette County coordinates planning, training, and exercises with the depot, surrounding counties, and the state of Kentucky. Lexington also receives funds for equipment and supplies necessary to respond to such emergencies.

What if there is an accident at the Blue Grass Army Dept?
If a release at the depot were to occur, Fayette County will serve as a host center for people evacuating Madison County. Evacuees will be provided with shelter, food, water, and medical attention. Jacobson Park (located on Richmond Road) has been designated as the main reception area.

How do I learn more?
To learn more, contact Tammy Liebenauer at 258-3784 or email her. For more information about the national CSEPP program, click here.
