Crime of the Week

ON APRIL 6, 2008 AT APPROXIMATELY 4:00 AM THE THORNTON SERVICE STATION ON SOUTH BROADWAY WAS ROBBED. A MALE WHITE SUSPECT ENTERED THE STORE AND SAID HE RAN OUT OF GAS AND NEEDED CHANGE TO MAKE A PHONE CALL. THE SUSPECT WAITED INSIDE THE STORE FOR A RIDE HOME. AFTER BEING IN THE STORE FOR 30 MINUTES THE SUSPECT WALKED BEHIND THE COUNTER. THE CLERK TOLD THE SUSPECT THAT HE COULD NOT STAY BEHIND THE COUNTER. AT THIS TIME THE SUSPECT STATED “YES I CAN I AM ROBBING YOU.” THE SUSPECT THEN STOLE CASH FROM THE REGISTER AND FLED THE STORE TOWARDS PYKE ROAD.

INVESTIGATORS WERE ABLE TO RETRIEVE SURVEILLANCE VIDEO OF THE ROBBERY. CRIME STOPPERS IS ASKING FOR HELP IDENTIFYING THE SUSPECT IN THE VIDEO.

INVESTIGATORS ARE REQUESTING ASSISTANCE FROM ANYONE WITH INFORMATION IN SOLVING THIS ROBBERY CASE.

CRIME STOPPERS IS OFFERING A $1000 CASH REWARD THIS WEEK TO THE CALLER WHO PROVIDES INFORMATION WHICH LEADS TO AN ARREST IN THIS ROBBERY CASE.
