Linda Gorton, is serving her first term as a Council At-Large member. She has served four terms representing the 4th District, holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Kentucky. She is a staff nurse for a local physician.
Gorton is active on numerous community boards, including the Parks Advisory Board, Family Circuit Court Advisory Board Sister Cities Commission, UK/LFUCG Arboretum Advisory Committee, Bluegrass Council-Boy Scouts, Friends of the Dog Park, Bluegrass Military Affairs Coalition, Friends of the Lafayette Band, Central Kentucky Radio Eye, and is a graduate of the Citizen Police Academy, the Citizen Fire Academy, Leadership Lexington 2000 and Leadership Kentucky 2001.
She serves on the Budget and Finance Committee and chairs the Planning Committee and the Stormwater Oversight Committee.
Gorton is also an instructor for the U.S. Army Reserve Pre-command Course.
Linda and her husband, Charles, have two adult children.
