Dr. David Stevens is serving his first term as Fifth District Councilman. He has preveiously served three terms as an At-Large
Council member. A retired orthopedic surgeon and former Chief of Staff at Shriners Hospital for Children, he also has served as the First Chairman of the Central
Kentucky Blood Center and President of the Fayette County Medical Society.
Dr. Stevens is a graduate of DePauw University and has an M.D. from Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago. He is active in many community activities and is a member of the
Lexington-Fayette Parks Advisory Board.
Dr. Stevens serves on the Policy and Priorities Committee and the Intergovernmental Committee and is Chairman of the Budget and Finance Committee. He also chairs the Town and Gown Commission, the Corridors Commission, the Infill
Redevelopment Steering Committee, and the University Community Caucus of the National League of Cities. He serves on the boards of Health and the
Bluegrass Airport.
