The Fayette County Detention Center incorporates many programs within the facility to aid in lowering recidivism rates of offenders. The programs offered within the jail consist of educational programs, job skills programs, and drug rehabilitation programs.
The Electronic Monitoring Program that was started in late 2005 is used as an alternative to incarceration for offenders that are a low risk of flight and low risk to public safety. The Electronic Monitoring program in conjunction with CAP (Community Alternative Placement) and Adult Probation extends the role of the detention center into a true Community Corrections system.
