Courthouse Area Design Review Board

OVERVIEW:

The intent of the Courthouse Area Design Review Process is to encourage growth and redevelopment in the downtown area, while preserving and protecting the unique features and characteristics of the area in conformity with the Comprehensive Plan and the design guidelines for the Court House area adopted by the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Council.

All meetings will be held between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. once each quarter or on an as-needed basis. The meetings are held in the Government Center's 12th floor conference room, 200 East Main Street.

APPLICANT REVIEW PROCESS
Prior to ordering materials or beginning construction


  • Review Design Guidelines
  • Review CADRB meeting schedule & submission filing deadlines
  • Complete Review Application form
  • Schedule meeting on-site with CADRB Officer
  • File required submission materials with the CADRB Officer
  • Attend CADRB Meeting
  • Other permits may be required
Review Submission Materials

  • A site plan drawn to scale with a graphic scale and North arrow showing the location of the project
  • A brief written summary of the work to be completed at the project
  • If applicable, clearly labeled architectural elevations of exterior building modifications, drawn to scale
  • If applicable, clearly labeled site drawings indicating any modifications to the site, drawn to scale
  • Digital images or photographs of the existing building and/or site
  • Construction details of new architectural or site modifications
  • Applicable items as outlined in Article 27
  • Other useful information that will help articulate the design intent of your project
