Andy Clark, Executive Director of the League of American Bicyclists, announced on September 21 that the organization has named Lexington a 'Bronze Level' Bike-Friendly Community. The announcement came during the Bike Summit held at UK's Student Center. 

Clark noted that while Lexington is just getting started with bike infrastructure, the vibrant and growing bike culture, events, programs and financial commitments has placed Lexington on track with other bronze-level bike-friendly cities.  The bronze award is recognition for the progress that has been made and encouragement to continue reaching for silver, gold and platinum status.
