Vacation Time: Accumulate 14 hours per full calendar month worked; may be used after the first six (6) months of the twelve (12) month probationary period.
Sick Leave: Accumulate 14 hours per full calendar month worked. After 840 hours are accumulated, receive payment for reduction to 840 hours at the beginning of each calendar year.
Holiday Time: Eleven and one-half (11 1/2) days per year.
Overtime Pay: Paid at time and a half (1.5) current rate of pay.
Extra Overtime Assignment Pay: Paid at time and a half (1.5) current rate of pay.
Flexible Benefit Package: $405.74 monthly* - includes options of Health, Life, Dental, Vision and Disability Insurance.
* Effective January, 2006
401K & 457: Available for purchase through the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government.
Retirement Plan: Generally, a 50% pension at 20 years of service.
Promotional Opportunities: Positions of Fire Lieutenant through Assistant Chief are promoted from within the Division.
